Hashtag “BoycottSnapchat” surfacing on social media, urging users to give the app a one-star rating and then uninstall it as a sign of protest. The rating of the app has fallen overnight showing that how much Indians respect their country, but the allegations are not proved in the court of law yet. The Google Play Store listing of the app has thousands of one star ratings and a string of comments from Indian users stating that they have chosen to act as a rebuttal to Spiegel’s statement.
What exactly did Spiegel say?
A statement that alleged ,the Snapchat CEO Evan Spiegel, when told in a meeting that Snapchat was performing poorly in foreign markets, interjected that “this app is only for rich people. I don’t want to expand into poor countries like India and Spain.”
A lawsuit was filed by a former Snapchat employee called Anthony Pompliano.

What is Snapchat’s response?
It denied all charges. Snapchat’s said, “The simple fact is that he (Mr Pompliano) knows nothing about Snap’s current metric.” Either way, it is hard to confirm if Spiegel actually made this statement.
